Understand what is needed
A guest may be looking for a table, information or conversation. Check before assuming which response is appropriate. Your work fits into the venue's organisation; you are not automatically responsible for solving every issue raised in the room.
Pass on useful information
When another staff member is needed, explain the request briefly and accurately. Avoid unnecessary personal details or judgements. Let the guest know who can help without promising an outcome that someone else must decide, especially for prices or disputed services.
Maintain continuity
Learn how breaks and changes of position are communicated. A simple handover reduces confusion during busy periods. If the same procedure repeatedly causes problems, raise a concrete example with the supervisor after the shift rather than leaving colleagues to improvise a different solution each time.
