Know the plan
Check your assigned area, the supervisor and any bookings that affect the evening. Ask how information will be shared if the plan changes. Do not infer your responsibilities from what another worker did on a previous night; assignments can differ between shifts and venues.
Know where requests go
Questions about payments, entry or disputed orders should reach the appropriate member of staff. Ask how to request help discreetly and promptly. Your role does not automatically include resolving every complaint or dealing with aggressive behaviour on your own.
Confirm the end of the shift
Clarify break arrangements, finishing time and your journey back. If you are asked to stay longer, discuss how the additional time will be recorded and handled. A useful handover focuses on practical information, without spreading unnecessary personal details about guests or colleagues.
